Mitch Landrieu for Mayor

When I was campaigning, residents were in agreement: They all wanted a mayor who would get the job done. It didn’t matter if the next mayor was male or female, black or white - it only mattered that he or she could get government to work properly for the citizens of New Orleans.

“Voters understand that New Orleans is at a critical point. Like never before, our city needs capable leadership.

“One candidate, Mitch Landrieu, is the first choice of black and white voters, Republicans and Democrats. It would be powerful for New Orleans to unite behind Mitch Landrieu and give us- all of us- the opportunity to move forward.

“Mitch knows how government operates and has demonstrated he can work with people to solve problems. He has strong connections in both Baton Rouge and Washington, which could bring more resources to our city. Further, he has already demonstrated the ability to serve as a spokesman, helping to improve the national image of New Orleans.

“It is time for our city to begin writing its next chapter, one where we have safer streets, a vibrant economy with good jobs, better schools, and an honest and effective city government. I believe Mitch Landrieu as our next Mayor will usher in a great future for our great city."
